The aims of teaching:

1.能听懂、会说、能读、会学这些词汇: Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Double Ninth Festival

2.通过快读、细读,学生能获取文本详细信息,了解相关节日的月份和活动。

3.通过开放性的对话和思维导图的设计,学生能活用本课重点知识进行交流,讲述自己最喜爱的节日,提升对新知的运用的能力。

4.通过朗读文本,学生能形成语感,加深对文本信息的理解,为表达作铺垫。

5.联系生活,学生能用所学内容谈论节日,培养学生学会“用语言做事”的综合表达能力。

Step1 Warming up

T: Boys and girls, what’s this?

S: Christmas.

T: When is the Christmas?

S: It’s on the twenty-fifth of December.

T: Yes, it’s about the time.

T: What do people do at Christmas?

S: They see Father Christmas/….

T: They’re about the activities.

T: What do people eat at Christmas?

S: They eat the turkey/Christmas pudding.

T: They’re about the food.

Step2 Presentation

T: Christmas is the important festival in Western countries. Which festival is the important inChina? You can speak it in Chinese.

S: ….

Teach: festival, the Spring Festival

T: Is the Spring Festival a western festival or a Chinese festival?

S: It’s a Chinese festival

T: InChina, there are some Chinese festivals. Today let’s learn a new lesson “Unit7 Chinese festivals”.

Teach the title.

T: How many Chinese festivals are there in the story? Please watch the video and answer the question.

T: If we know something about Chinese festivals, we have to finish three tasks. Please take out your paper. First, let’s finish Task1 Listen and match.

Retell or repeat the Spring Festival

T: The Spring Festival is happy for us. And the other three Chinese festivals are nice too. Now work in pairs, read Part2, 3 and 4, then ask and answer with the three questions. Look at the learning tips:

1.Read Part2, 3 and 4, find the unknown words. You can ask your partners for help.

2.You can use the three question: When is … Festival? What do people do? What do people eat?

Work in pairs. (When’s the … Festival? What do people do? What do people eat?)

Ask and answer, then teach the new words: watch dragon boat races in some places, eat rice dumplings, look at the moon at night with their families, eat moon cakes and fruit, visit their parents and grandparents, climb mountains, old people, eat rice cakes

Read Part2, 3 and 4.

Retell or repeat the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Ninth Festival.
